Yamesia "Mesia" Sims, Owner/Baker

Baker Yameisa “Mesia” Sims opened Cakes & Treats of Atlanta to provide A-1 customer service and top notch cakes for the Southwest Atlanta community where she was born and raised.

Although childhood birthday cakes were usually the more traditional yellow box cake with chocolate frosting variety, Mesia’s love for baking started by chopping pecans & raisins for the cakes her mother made for her teachers followed up with a few Home Economics classes.

As an adult, Mesia continued the tradition her mother set, baking cakes for her children’s teachers. Once the word about her delicious cakes got out at her kids’ schools, she found herself with several accounts at various APS Schools. While serving as Team Mom for sporting activities, she started selling pound cakes in the park, as well as going door-to-door while still working full time in the real estate industry.

Once the real estate market started to slow in 2016, she realized it was time to open up shop officially and she made the decision to become a full time baker. Cakes & Treats of Atlanta was open for business two years later.

Summer 2023 marks the five year anniversary of Cakes & Treats of Atlanta, a business that not only managed to not just stay open during the pandemic, but also thrive. Now that she is an established business owner, she wants to provide more service to more communities. Over the course of her anniversary year, expect to see - online orders available for shipping, classes and events and the re-opening of her storefront which was closed due to the pandemic. Mesia is excited to provide a nice place for customers to hangout while snacking on delicious items and sipping coffee in her community!
